COVID-19 Emergency Grant
Providing members and their families in need with immediate relief during COVID-19
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Support Our Troops recognizes now more than ever that Canadian Armed Forces members and their families may require financial support for basic needs.
The newly established COVID-19 Emergency Grant will provide an immediate solution of modest support to members and their families during this global pandemic to provide applicants with additional time to determine other available solutions.
Eligible applicants can apply to receive the following grant:
*If it is determined that additional financial support is required, then a referral will be made to the local SISIP Financial Counsellor. There may be other loans and / or grants that can be accessed.
- A one-time* $200 (maximum) grant per household for groceries or gas.
*Dependant family members as reflected on a member's MPRR.
**Applicants are encouraged to access financial support from provincial / federal government programs to address COVID-19 issues where possible.
- For serving regular force and reserve members and their families* with an urgent need for immediate support of basic needs including gas, groceries, and medications**
Applicants should complete the COVID-19 Emergency Grant form
and submit it to their padre, SISIP Financial Counsellor
, Support Our Troops contact
, or MFRC.
Financial support can be provided through gas and grocery cards; and / or a fund deposit directly into a bank account.
It can take 2-3 business days for the funds to appear in the member’s bank account provided. If the situation is urgent, then the deposit can occur faster.*
*Please note, depending on application volume, Support Our Troops may not be able to maintain the 2-3 business day turnaround.
The COVID-19 Emergency Grant is not a long-term solution to emergency financial distress. The grant is intended to provide temporary financial relief while obtaining more sustainable solutions from provincial and federal government programs.
