Dear Fellow Canadians,

In just a few days, Canadians will be remembering and giving thanks to the women and men that have courageously served our country.

NOVEMBER IS WHEN WE COME TOGETHER TO HONOUR MEMBERS OF THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES.

Truth be told, I regularly think of the many sacrifices these brave women and men have made and continue to make on behalf of all of us. I think of the challenges faced by their families, who can know uncertainty and worry, lengthy absences, and at times even the injury, illness or loss of a loved one.

Often I wonder if this time of remembrance is really enough? As an Honorary Colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force for over a decade, I have come to know many of the brave women, men and families who make up the Canadian Armed Forces community.

I have spoken to those whose lives have been forever changed as a result of serving our country. I have met families dealing with challenges unique to military life and coping with heartbreaking situations.

Today, I am asking you to join me in remembering how fortunate we have been and continue to be in having these devoted Canadians serve our country, and to consider the wives, husbands, partners and children who also serve Canada.
Loreena McKennitt
Both these core programs are operating at capacity and urgently need your support. I thank you for your past support and ask you to once again show your appreciation and gratitude to the women and men of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families.

Your gift will help meet the unique needs and challenges faced by members of the Canadian Armed Forces community as a result of military service. I have witnessed the difference you make.

MY HOPE IS THAT YOU CONTINUE TO STAND WITH US TO HONOUR THE BRAVE AND DEVOTED CANADIANS WHO GENUINELY DESERVE OUR IMMENSE GRATITUDE.

With warm regards and heartfelt thanks,
Loreena McKennitt
Honourary Colonel, Royal Canadian Air Force

PS: Your generous gift will both honour those that serve and assist those in need.
