National Youth Camp Program
Bringing fun and new friends into the lives of children in military families.
YOU CAN PROVIDE ADVENTURE AND LIFE-LONG MEMORIES FOR CHILDREN
2018 marks the fifth year of the National Youth Camp Program for children and families of the Canadian Armed Forces community. This extremely popular program provides funding for children in military families to attend a weeklong, accredited summer camp of their choice.
The National Youth Camp Program focuses on supporting children with unique and often daunting lifestyle challenges including:
- Special needs children and/or siblings of special needs children
- Children and dependents of ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members
- Children of deceased Canadian Armed Forces members
- Children and dependents of Canadian Armed Forces members who are:
- currently deployed
- on prolonged course or training program,
- scheduled for deployment, or serving away from their families
Children and families can also be nominated for grants to attend camp by military leadership in their community.
Support from generous Canadians, and contributions from foundations like True North Youth Foundation are sending kids to enjoy a week of summer fun, often when they need it the most!
A GROWING PROGRAM
Program growth has been steady since its launch in 2012, when 30 grants were awarded. In 2017, 585 children attended camp and we were not able to grant all applications. 2018 has been no different, with places filled within 4 weeks. Without your support, many children will continue to struggle with the stress and anxiety of military life with no break or camaraderie of peers.
YOUR SUPPORT WILL BRING A RENEWED ENERGY AND SUPPORT NETWORK
TO YOUNG LIVES.
Your donation to the National Youth Camp Program will let children experience a care-free environment to learn, grow, create and play.
