Celebrating Our Brave Women and Men in Uniform

Each year on the first Sunday of June we celebrate Canadian Armed Forces Day, an opportunity to recognize the immense dedication, selflessness, and compassion demonstrated by those who answer the call to serve.
In normal times the weight of military service can take a toll on those in uniform, and by extension their home lives.

Current circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have magnified these stressors. Reservists and spouses have lost jobs. Youth from military families, like so many others their age, are without summer employment to cover the costs of tuition in the fall, while others struggle to balance one-parent households during deployments.

We have already witnessed troops deploying to seniors’ centres in Ontario and Quebec and providing assistance in northern communities, once again demonstrating commitment to protect and keep Canadians and our country safe.

Join us on June 7th, Canadian Armed Forces Day, at 7PM EDT on YouTube as we express our infinite gratitude towards the brave women and men of the Canadian Armed Forces, as well as their families, for the sacrifices they make every day.
