Under Armour partners with Support Our Troops to help send military children to summer camp Under Armour has committed funding to the Support Our Troops National Summer Camps Program to support military children getting active through sport and recreation. One of the main goals of Support Our Troops is to help members, Veterans, and their families cope with the realities of military service. Through its UA Freedom initiative, Under Armour shares that same mindset of support and gratitude. They strive to understand these realities and work to enhance the physical and mental wellness of those both actively serving and retired; provide equal opportunity through educational platforms for current and former military members and their families; and provide long-term opportunities for members in uniform who protect our daily freedoms through positive youth mentoring, employment and career development. In order to help us achieve that goal, Under Armour has provided resources to the Support Our Troops National Summer Camps Program that will inevitably support hundreds of military children children. This extremely popular program was born out of the desire to provide military children the chance to feel like they belong, boost their confidence, and feel more in control of their lives. Under Armour is committed to removing barriers to sport and recreation for youth and in this instance specifically in the military community. Their generous contribution will help Support Our Troops support military children get active through sport and recreation while relishing the experience of summer camp. “We know service doesn’t sit with an individual but the entirety of their family,” says Flynn Burch, Director of Global Community Impact at Under Armour. “We are committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate in sports. Within that call to action we know the benefits children gain through sports and are excited to bring this opportunity to military youth in partnership with Support Our Troops.” Thank you Under Armour from the hundreds of kids keen to participate next year!
