The Art Easel Program

The Art Easel Program is an innovative fundraising initiative that allows Canadians to support military members, Veterans, and their families through Support Our Troops.

In partnership with Funding Innovation, businesses across Canada host professionally displayed art easels featuring Canadian-made, fully licensed sports, music, and traditional art prints. Visitors can place bids on the artwork, with proceeds supporting programs that enhance the well-being and resilience of the Canadian Armed Forces community.

Since launching in 2016, the Art Easel Program has grown into a national network of participating businesses and community organizations, helping raise vital funds for military members, Veterans, ill and injured personnel, and their families.

How it works: 

Funding Innovation partners with charitable organizations like Support Our Troops and works with businesses that are willing to host art easels in their locations.

Customers place bids on featured artwork throughout the campaign period, and net proceeds are directed to programs that support:

  • Family resiliency and well-being
  • Recovery and rehabilitation of ill and injured military members
  • Community support initiatives
  • Other programs that improve the lives of military members, Veterans, and their families

Program Impact

The Art Easel Program has generated significant support for the Canadian military community, raising more than $2 million through the generosity of participating businesses and bidders across Canada.

Every bid helps Support Our Troops deliver meaningful programs and services where they are needed most.

Airway of Heroes

A community of regional and international airports from coast to coast hosts Art Easels in support of Support Our Troops, helping connect Canadians with the opportunity to give back while they travel.

Highway of Heroes

Roadside service centres and travel stops across Canada proudly support military members and their families by displaying Art Easels in their establishments.

Hallway of Heroes

Municipal partners, including city halls, have joined the program by hosting Art Easels in public spaces and encouraging community involvement in supporting the military community.

Giant Tiger

A valued long-standing partner through programs such as Operation Santa Claus, Giant Tiger was among the first national retailers to support the Art Easel Program, with more than 130 participating stores.
