Holiday Message from General (Ret'd) Rick Hillier

Dear Friends of the CAF,

As we head into the holiday season and reflect on this past year and its many challenges, I want to thank you for your continued support of our women and men in uniform and their families.

During ordinary circumstances, the weight of military service can take its toll on Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and their families. During our current climate, navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, these struggles have been an added stress on our CAF community.  

Since April 2020, Support Our Troops has provided $2.4M in Emergency Loans and Grants to more than 1,700 CAF members and their families who may have required assistance.

We stand with our military community as we navigate our new normal. Their commitment to our country is unwavering, as was seen this past year when they provided support in long-term care facilities amidst the pandemic, as well as in regular operations domestically and overseas.

As we approach the end of 2020, your support is still needed to ensure our CAF community have help with the challenges they face as a result of their military service.

Our brave and dedicated Canadian soldiers are always there for us. They serve our country every day of the year, and are at the ready regardless of the circumstances. Your generosity is helping women, men and families face these unique challenges with hope, strength and dignity.
