FAQ

This page will address questions you may have about the National Medical Travel Assistance Program.

Applicants may submit up to two applications per eligible family member per fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). For example, if you have an eligible child and an eligible spouse, you may submit up to four applications total during the fiscal year (two per eligible family member).
The maximum reimbursement amount is $1,000. For example, an eligible child and an eligible spouse within the same family may each receive up to $1,000 for a total of $2,000 in reimbursement.

The program is available to children and/or spouses of currently serving Regular Force and Reserve Force CAF members who are listed on the member's Personnel Record Resume (MPRR).

For dual-service military families (where both parents serve in the CAF), only dependent children are eligible. CAF members themselves are not eligible.

Applications are accepted between April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, or until available funding has been exhausted.
